It fought a Manassas and around Richmond, VA. It was transferred to Thomas' Legion in May, 1862 as Company A. It was transferred to the 39th NC Infantry as Company K on Jan, 1863. For Historical information it is referred to as Thomas' Legion 1st Company A. Company 2nd A - Infantry - Indian Company This was the first Indian Company. It was originally Company C. When the 1st Company A was transferred to the 39th NC Infantry as Company K on Jan, 1863 this company was designated as Company A (2nd). In 1865 it was transferred to the Indian Battalion as Company A. Company B - Infantry - Indian Company The 2nd Company A was divided and formed this Company. Prior to 1863, this was Company D. In 1865 it was transferred to the Indian Battalion, Company B. Company C - Infantry - Haywood Co. - White Company Originally a Company of partisan rangers in June, 1862, this company was assigned as Company E until Jan., 1863. In 1864 it became Company C. In 1864 it was combined with Company I. Company D - Infantry - Jackson Co., NC and Jefferson Co., TN - White Company Originally was part of Walkers Battalion, Co. 2nd D. In Jan, 1863 was transferred to Love's Regiment as Company D. Company E - Infantry - Haywood Co. - White Company Originally the 16th NC Infantry, Co. L, transferred to Thomas' Legion May, 1862 as Co. B. Later became Co. E. Company F - Infantry - White Company Also known as Conley's Sharpshooters, was mustered in at Valleytown, NC on July 19, 1862. Company G - Infantry - Jackson Co. - White Company Before Jan, 1863 this was Co. E. Company H - Infantry - Cherokee Co. - White Company Originally formed as Walkers Battalion, Co. 2nd F, transferred Sept, 1862 to Love's Battalion, Co. H. Company I - Infantry - Cherokee Co. - White Company Originally formed as Walkers Battalion, Co. D, transferred Sept, 1862 to Love's Battalion, Co. I. Later combined with Co. C.
